What Changes in Mid-August
After month-one Normal shrine clears, the official Vol'jin timeline opens a Heroic world boss ladder from August 10, 2026. Heroic shrine fights hit harder, demand tighter interrupt coverage, and pay out stronger immersive gear and Treasures of Azeroth currency than the July Normal clears.
Treat Heroic bosses as a parallel track to Zul'Gurub and Crow's Cache — do not skip raid night for every Heroic, but schedule the ones that fill contested BiS slots.

Open-World vs Shrine Heroic
Every world boss still supports two lanes: contested open-world PvPvE under Hybrid Risk, and the nearby Boss Shrine for an instanced fight with selectable difficulty. Heroic difficulty is tuned above Normal open-world — bring raid-ready essences, voice, and a Support banner (Guardian Inspiration, Ranger Farstrider, or Stormbringer Winds).
Soft-core and Prestige players should clear Normal first if they have not finished July shrines, then step into Heroic once interrupt rotations are memorized. Soft resets waste less guild morale than forcing wipe-fests on day one of each Heroic unlock.
Weekly Priority vs Zul'Gurub
Keep Zul'Gurub lockout as Priority 1 on guild raid night. Slot Heroic world bosses on off-nights or after Hakkar. Crow's Cache High Risk windows stay separate — dying on cache night with a bag of contested loot is still the fastest way to lose a week's work.

Comp & Consumable Checklist
Standard Heroic shrine raid: two tanks, three healers, one Support, DPS with assigned interrupts. Frost resist for Azuregos, shadow resist for Kazzak and Atal'zul, nature/poison awareness for Soggoth and dragon breath patterns.
