Vol'jin Launch — July 3, 2026
Project Ascension's official Vol'jin timeline confirms Conquest of Azeroth went live July 3, 2026 with a simultaneous content drop: full 21-class roster, Expanded Azeroth, Mythic+ vanilla dungeons, Ascended raids (Molten Core, Onyxia's Lair, Blackwing Lair), Manastorm, Hybrid Risk, Heroes Callboard, and free Master Warchest rewards.
Three major systems launched the same day: Vanilla Heroic Dungeons (elevated difficulty on classic instances), Blackrock Caverns (new dungeon in the Blackrock depth), and the ongoing seasonal world boss rotation. This wiki tracks each Vol'jin timeline entry and updates walkthroughs as content goes live.

Vanilla Heroic Dungeons (July 3)
All favorite vanilla dungeons gained a Heroic difficulty tier at launch. Heroic modes increase creature damage and health while expanding loot tables with CoA-appropriate gear — a bridge between Normal dungeon blues and raid entry ilvl.
Heroic Deadmines, Shadowfang Keep, Scarlet Monastery, and other classics fill groups during launch week. See the dedicated Heroic Dungeons walkthrough for composition tips and lockout rules.
Blackrock Caverns (July 3)
A brand-new dungeon, Blackrock Caverns, opened inside the Blackrock mountain complex at launch. Molten rivers, ancient powers, and multi-boss encounters challenge pre-raid groups with immersive drops and essences tuned for level 50–60 progression.
Full strategy guide: Blackrock Caverns Walkthrough. Pair with Molten Core for thematic Blackrock progression.

Month Two — Crow's Cache, Zul'Gurub & Mid-August (July 31 – August 2026)
Crow's Cache went live July 31, 2026 as a Hybrid Risk High PvP event — hunt hidden caches, contest loot, and farm under High Risk stakes. Full tactics: Crow's Cache Guide.
Zul'Gurub went live August 1, 2026 as the first post-launch raid tier beyond Molten Core, Onyxia's Lair, and Blackwing Lair, culminating in Hakkar the Soulflayer. Strategy: Zul'Gurub Walkthrough.
Nightmare Dragons went live August 5 — slay the corrupted dragons of the Green Flight (full walkthrough). Mythic+ Dungeons 10 unlocked August 7 for higher timed rewards. Official timeline lists Molten Core on August 8 and Onyxia on August 9 as mid-August raid focus windows — see the Molten Core Focus Guide.
From August 10–15 the Heroic world boss ladder re-ran July bosses (dragons on August 13) and closed with Heroic Atal'zul on August 15. August 16+ is a farm week — no new timeline pillar yet. Use the Late-August Checklist and the August 15 Balance Patch digest (Runemaster engraving rework, Ragnaros 30% start, doubled Mythic caches).
PvP Progression Season 1 (July 11)
On July 11, 2026, Vol'jin launched PvP Progression 1 — a fresh arena season with reset MMR, rating, and honor points. Players compete on equal footing for epic PvP gear tiers. Structured 2v2, 3v3, and battleground progression runs parallel to PvE raid schedules.
Details: PvP Progression Feature Guide. Pair with Hybrid Risk for open-world PvP and Best PvP Classes for spec picks. Time-limited players also explore level-bracket PvP (19 / 29 / 39 caps) using Worldforged BiS.
Balance & Meta Updates (July 20, 2026)
Post-launch class balance iterates patch by patch. Mid-July community consensus places Barbarian, Necromancer, Runemaster, Templar, and Primalist in S-tier overall — hybrids win because survivability, utility, and raid buffs often outweigh raw DPS.
S-tier snapshots: Barbarian for cleave + ancestor support; Necromancer for pet AoE and plague/frost range; Runemaster for sustained raid/M+ DPS with teleports; Templar as the most forgiving tank with instant self-heals; Primalist for full-kit versatility across tank/DPS/heal/support.
Week two complete: Soggoth and Mythic Dungeons (July 17), Snowgrave (July 18), and Kaldros Depthbreaker (July 19 — live now) close Vol'jin's launch-month world boss arc. Farm shrine instances for Treasures of Azeroth while pushing PvP Progression Season 1.
New players still leveling should use the Travel Permit route to hit level 15, then push Mythic Dungeons before chasing weekly world bosses.

Week Four — Atal'zul (July 26–29, 2026)
The official Ascension Vol'jin timeline resumed world boss drops on July 26, 2026 with Atal'zul, Reaper of Souls — an Ascension-original shadow boss in the Eastern Plaguelands border near the Ghostlands. Farm his shrine altar for Treasures of Azeroth while finishing catch-up on Soggoth, Snowgrave, and Kaldros.
Week four closed month one. Crow's Cache (July 31) and Zul'Gurub (August 1) are now live — continue with the Month Two Progression Guide. The Week Three Progression guide remains as a month-one archive checklist.
