Where Vol'jin Stands — August 16, 2026
The official Vol'jin timeline closed the mid-August Heroic shrine ladder on August 15 with Heroic Atal'zul. No new timeline pillar has posted for August 16 yet — treat this week as a farm-and-stabilize window, not another unlock sprint.
The same weekend shipped a dense Ascension changelog: Runemaster Weapon Engraving was rebuilt, Ragnaros now opens at 30% health (same remaining HP), Mythic coins and caches jumped, and Wildvine became far easier to farm for Zul'Gurub crafts.

Weekly Priority Stack (August 16 Week)
Guilds that tried to stack Zul'Gurub, every Heroic shrine, Molten Core, Onyxia, and a +10 in one night burned out. Late August is the opposite: pick two lockouts and finish them cleanly.
- Priority 1 — Zul'Gurub: Hakkar weapons still define the month. Wildvine is cheaper after the August 15 drop buff — ZG walkthrough.
- Priority 2 — Molten Core / Onyxia catch-up: Ragnaros execute is longer now. Use the second raid night for alts and Soft-core Prestige — MC walkthrough.
- Priority 3 — Weekly Mythic+ to +10: Caches and coins are doubled / +50% this week and the extra is retroactive — Mythic Weekly Caches.
- Priority 4 — Heroic shrine catch-up: Finish any altar you missed Aug 10–15. Soft-core and Prestige alts still need Normal first.
- Priority 5 — Crow's Cache & PvP Season 1: Keep High Risk and rated nights off the raid calendar.
Class Notes After the August 13–15 Window
Runemaster is the biggest rebuild since launch — every Weapon Engraving has a new identity, Ice + Wind is called out against Ragnaros, and PvP damage was trimmed 8%. Rebuild from the Engraving Rework page, not from a July export.
Barbarian gained 6.1% PvE damage on August 13 (Brutality −4% in PvP). Reaper Dominion threat nearly doubled (85% → 180%). Cultist Dreadnaught Embodiment of Y'shaarj now grants Attack Power from absorbs instead of Spell Power — the old loop is gone. PvP trinkets now strip every form of CC, including silences and disarms.
What to Watch While You Farm

Should I still run Heroic world bosses?
Yes if you missed a night or need immersive loot on an alt. They are catch-up now, not a daily unlock race.
What changed on Ragnaros?
He now starts the encounter at 30% health instead of 40%, with the same remaining HP. Execute lasts longer. Majordomo Inferno Aegis also ticks over 4 seconds instead of bursting instantly.
Did Mythic+ rewards change?
Weekly Mythic coins increased 50% and weekly Mythic caches doubled. Both changes are retroactive for the current week.
