Conquest of Azeroth Launch Overview
Official launch details for CoA — July 3, 2026 release on Vol'jin, 70 specializations, Support role, launch rewards, and live realm content.
Official Launch — July 3, 2026
Conquest of Azeroth officially launched free to play on July 3, 2026 at 7:00 AM PST / 10:00 AM EST / 3:00 PM GMT on the Vol'jin live realm. After years of alpha and open beta testing, Project Ascension released CoA as a standalone class-based MMO alongside its classless modes — all accessible through one launcher and one account.
The launch announcement was made in Ascension's official YouTube video "Full Release: Conquest of Azeroth" published June 28, 2026. Every new player receives the Master Warchest and Vanity Sync bundle for free on their first character.
CoA is no longer in beta. Access keys, shop bundles for entry, and PTR-only restrictions are removed. Create a free Ascension account, select Conquest of Azeroth in the launcher, and join Vol'jin immediately.
What Launched on Day One
Launch content includes the full level 1–60 journey through Expanded Azeroth, all twenty-one original classes with seventy specializations (some classes offer four specs including tank or heal roles), dual talent trees, Ability Essences from level 30, and the new Support role for buffing and empowering allies.
Endgame systems live at launch: dungeons at Normal, Heroic, Mythic, and Mythic+ difficulties; raids at Normal, Heroic, Mythic, and Ascended tiers including Molten Core, Onyxia, and Blackwing Lair with overhauled mechanics; world bosses with open-world PvPvE and instanced altar versions; Manastorm challenges; battlegrounds including Twin Peaks; 2v2 and 3v3 arena with new maps; and the Heroes Callboard endgame quest system.
Item systems include over 9,000 immersive gear drops (creatures drop the gear they wear), 1,800+ Worldforged open-world items upgradeable with Runes of Ascension, RPG creature overhaul across all of Azeroth, Woodcutting and Woodworking professions, and class-specific profession interactions.
New Systems Highlighted at Launch
Support Role: CoA introduces a dedicated Support role beyond traditional tank/healer/DPS. Support specs empower allies with buffs, damage mitigation, and enemy manipulation while contributing damage — found on Starcaller, Ranger Farstrider, Witch Doctor, and other classes.
Toggleable PvP Modes: Players switch between PvE, War Mode, and High Risk PvP in cities through the Activities menu. PvE is default with no player combat. War Mode grants bonus experience and faction PvP in contested zones. High Risk adds greater XP bonuses and bloodforged PvP gear drops but death drops a chest of your gold and loot. Mercenary Mode lets you attack your own faction.
Hardcore Trials and Prestige Mode: Optional challenge modes for players seeking permadeath-style trials or repeated leveling runs with account-wide rewards. Neither is required for standard endgame.
Post-Launch Development
CoA receives full-time development post-launch with balance patches, new content phases, and seasonal events. Follow official Ascension news at ascension.gg/en/news/conquest-of-azeroth and the CoA Discord for patch notes.
Launch day issues — launcher patch failures, queue times, addon incompatibilities, and balance outliers — are expected and addressed through hotfixes. Report bugs through in-game tools and official Discord channels with class, spec, zone, and reproduction steps.
Content releases progressively in phases similar to Season of Discovery, unlocking additional vanilla endgame tiers over time for focused class balance testing.
Getting Started After Launch
