Wildvine Farming & Zul'Gurub

August 15, 2026 Wildvine patch on Vol'jin — 1% chance from every Zul'Gurub mob, open-world drops tripled. How to feed Hakkar crafts without camping a single node.

What the August 15 Note Changed

Wildvine was the quiet bottleneck for several Zul'Gurub crafts and raid consumables. On August 15, 2026 Ascension gave every mob inside Zul'Gurub a 1% Wildvine chance and tripled open-world Wildvine drop amounts (pending restart). You no longer need a dedicated herb route to keep a 10–25 flex raid in flasks.

ZG is still Priority 1 for Hakkar weapons. The patch just means a full clear now pays reagents as well as loot — trash is no longer “skip if we are late.”

How to Farm Without Wasting a Lockout

Inside ZG: Clear trash toward High Priest bosses instead of hero-jumping to Hakkar. The 1% chance is per mob, so a clean trash wing is worth more Wildvine than a wipe-into-boss night. Soft-core and Prestige alts can run Normal trash even if the main raid already locked Heroic.

Open world: After the restart, the same nodes and mobs that already dropped Wildvine drop more of it. Pair a gathering loop with gold making and professions — Woodcutting / Woodworking still do not replace herbalism here.

  • Do: full trash wings on raid night, then Hakkar
  • Do: one open-world loop on an herbalism alt after the restart
  • Don't: vendor Wildvine the week of a contested Hakkar weapon
  • Don't: drop the ZG lockout to farm nodes in Stranglethorn

Where This Sits in the Week

Keep Zul'Gurub as the guild raid. Use the extra Wildvine to stop cancelling flask crafts, not to open a third raid night. Molten Core still wants fire resist and the new Ragnaros 30% execute — that is a different lockout. Week plan: Late-August Checklist.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does every ZG mob drop Wildvine?

Every mob inside Zul'Gurub now has a 1% chance. It is not guaranteed, but a full trash wing is a real farm.

Did open-world Wildvine change too?

Yes. Drop amounts in the open world were increased 200% (tripled) after the pending restart.

Should I cancel the Hakkar night to farm herbs?

No. The whole point of the patch is that the raid itself now feeds the craft. Keep the lockout.
