Gold Farming Routes on Vol'jin
Zone-by-zone gold farming routes for Conquest of Azeroth — gathering loops, vendor trash, Wildvine, timber, and level-60 hourly farms after the July 2026 launch.
How to Read These Routes
These loops assume you already picked gathering professions. Dual gathering (Mining + Herbalism, or Mining + Woodcutting) is the default. Skinning adds leather from every beast pack you already kill. Do not fly a dedicated farm until you have a mount — questing through the same zones is faster gold per hour below 40.
Pair every loop with the auction house guide so you list stacks the same day. Raw gold from vendor trash is a bonus, not the plan.
Levels 1–30 — Farm While You Quest
Starter zones are too crowded for node camping. Grab every herb, ore, and timber on the way to quest markers and dump stacks in the nearest city. The Travel Permit chain in the 1–15 guide already walks you past several rich ridges.
- 1–10: starter-zone copper, peacebloom, silverleaf, and young timber — vendor greens, keep cloth
- 10–20: Westfall / Silverpine / Barrens tin and briarthorn; skin every wolf and raptor
- 20–30: Duskwood / Hillsbrad / Stonetalon iron, mageroyal, and first hardwood stands
Levels 30–50 — The First Real Loops
Once you have a mount, dedicated 20-minute loops start to beat quest gold. Stay off peak-hour node highways if you can — early morning and late night still pay more.
- Stranglethorn Vale coast: goldthorn, iron, raptor leather, and vendor trash from pirates. Setis the Tideborn weeks add extra traffic — farm the inland ridge instead.
- Arathi Highlands circle: iron and mithril along the inner ring, liferoot in the wetlands, timber on the western hills.
- Tanaris / Thousand Needles: mithril, purple lotus pockets, and wastewander pockets for silk and vendor greens.
- Feralas inner path: mithril, fadeleaf, and high-value hardwood that Woodworking still buys in August.
Levels 50–60 and Cap Farms
At 60 the hourly farms that still print gold on Vol'jin are gathering plus one weekly objective, not raw mob grinding. Hybrid Risk High mode can inflate drops — only run it if you accept the death penalty. See Hybrid Risk.
- Un'Goro circle: thorium, dreamfoil, mountain silversage, devilsaur leather. Clockwise from Marshal's Refuge, 18–22 minutes.
- Eastern Plaguelands north ridge: plaguebloom, icecap on the high ground, thorium, and Atal'zul-week overflow traffic — shift south on shrine nights.
- Winterspring timber + sage: CoA hardwood, mountain silversage, and blue sapphires. Snowgrave weeks crowd the summit; farm the south lake instead.
- Burning Steppes / Searing Gorge: dark iron, thorium, and dense stone for blacksmithing. Pair with Blackrock Caverns trash runs.
- Zul'Gurub trash: Wildvine is a 1% drop from every ZG mob after August 15 — see Wildvine & Zul'Gurub.
- Heroes Callboard: weekly gold caches at 60 often beat a second gathering hour — Callboard guide.
What Not to Farm
Do not camp launch-week BoE greens. Do not vendor immersive set pieces before you check bonuses. Do not Hybrid-Risk farm on a hardcore or prestige character. And do not sit in Azshara on Azuregos week expecting exclusive nodes — the whole server is there.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best gold farm at level 60?
Dual gathering in Un'Goro or Winterspring plus one Callboard gold cache. Add ZG Wildvine on raid nights.
Is skinning worth a profession slot?
Yes if you already kill beasts on the route. It is a poor first pick if you never leave a mining circle.
Should I farm during world-boss weeks?
Farm the adjacent zone, not the boss island. Shrine traffic eats nodes and inflates repair bills.
Do these routes replace the Gold Making Guide?
No. This page is the map. The Gold Making Guide covers Callboard, crafting margins, and launch pitfalls.
